Someone asked me recently why our logo is of a palm tree when we live in the northeast. I explained that WriteSpa – An Oasis for Writers has actually been around a long time as a place for writers to “get replenished with creative ideas and encouragement.” As a mentor and teacher, I used the idea of an oasis as a place where writers could relax – they could feel confident, worthy, and accomplished.
When I expanded my mentoring work to offering professional editing services, it was from the same initial desire: to enable writers to feel secure, to be able to relax with their manuscripts, to rest, to put them in the hands of someone they could trust, and then continue on with their journey, whether that was revising, finishing, or publishing.
So Writespa Press really came out of the image I had of an oasis for writers. If you can imagine trudging wearily into a lovely oasis after months or years of journeying with your manuscript, and you sit down at a taverna, and the friendly owner comes out and offers you a cool glass of fresh water, a place to rest, and the assurance that your manuscript will be well taken care of in just the way you always longed, by professionals who know how, your spirits will lift. You’ll feel satisfied.
And then you can continue on with your journey – hopefully, to write a new book.
