Surprised by Love
Set in the 1980s, May Paddock’s novel is about an older woman who longs to protect and nurture her family. The story takes place in various locations, including the bohemian lofts of lower New York to the sun-drenched boardwalk of Venice Beach, to a snow-covered chauffeur’s cottage on Boston’s North Shore, to war-weary Nicaragua. The book cover reflects the spare, beautiful writing, the romance that occurs on the coast of Nicaragua, and an inner sunrise that emerges in the main character.
Sight and Insight
First published in 1959 by Farrar Strauss & Giroux, Alexander Eliot’s definitive guide to how to look at art was reissued in 2011. Eliot designed the original cover for Farrar Strauss and this time we used a picture he drew himself of The Hermit carrying the lamp of insight or “seeing.”
A Perfect Gem
Each chapter in this romantic suspense novel begins with a brief description of the energetic properties of stones and crystals, so it seemed fitting to include a woman’s lovely throat with a gem on the cover. A missing gem is also a catalyst for the story – as well as describing one of the most likable male protagonists you’ll ever meet.
